Thai Insurance Association, in collaboration with OIC, has stipulated rules for reimbursement by increasing the compulsory motor insurance coverage from 300,000 Baht to 500,000 Baht without additional premium.

The purpose of the Protection for Motor Vehicle Accident Victims Act are :

• Ensure that all road victims would be covered with immediate medical treatment for road victims
• Encourage social care especially the vehicle owner and the insurance companies to take part in social responsibility
• Strengthen awareness and consciousness for safety among the drivers and lessen burden for the driver and provide relief for the victims
